Another week, another spec BLOG.

Some super awesome books, here are the highlights. As this evolves, I won't be posting EVERY single issue in discord and will just keep it to this post here.

Spec Recs

Exquisite Corpses #1 3rd & #2 2nd - Likely be the ones later

These are top of the list this week, the secondary market is absolutely wild for this book right now (mainly for reprints and polybags). Also #1A seems like it is a $15 book now! If this trend continues, we are all gonna be happy. I am still playing this as a bigger move as Tynion and his team have yet to let me down. I think these reprints will find legs over the coming months!

All-New Spider-Gwen #1

I am not entirely sure rebooting this series is what we all wanted as fans, and seeing the same creative team is a new one for sure. I am curious what they do here though. Irregardless, J Scott Campbell is someone who I would be a fool to NOT list on spec for a new #1.

This IS also getting a first apperance, Tantrum. So dual points this week 😂

Worth mentioning, the Nogi San Variant is one I am getting for the art alone.

Uncanny X-Men #19

Mr. Campbell is always one I will recommend, not all his covers soar, but the ones that do easily find $10s if not higher on the secondary market. And for non flippers who existed in the 90s, they are just gorgeous covers anyone should be stoked to have in a collection. These also DO sell out first, always. I have not seen a cover of his NOT sell out, so if you want one, be sure to nab one now.

Black Cat #1

This is getting a mention as well, G Willow Wilson has been doing amazing things and to see Black Cat getting a #1 with Wilson at the helm is awesome. Her run on Ivy was absolutely insane. Also the cover (outside of campbells) that has me intrigued is Black Cat in the Spider suit by Chew. All the covers are superb though!

Cul-De-Sac #1 - Scottie

When Scottie Young says "I absolutely loved this" I tend to pay attention. Also seeing it being a "Bad Idea" book I am intrigued enough to consider this on my spec list. All the covers are great as well.

Honorable Mentions

Captain America #2

This one has been a surprise, I knew it would do well but seeing it fly off the shelves in the shop wasn't on my bingo card. Chip is a superb writer, #1 was very good. #2 being recommended because it's got me excited about Capt (which I haven't been in a while). The new suit is sick, and I believe this is first full app of Colton as Capt!

Bloodshot #1

With the second movie offically happening, and Valiant now being owned by DMG, this is worth adding to the list. Unsure of the new owners, their movie track record is so so. I was hoping Dinesh would buy Valinat back, but it looks like that didn't happen.

Ultimate Wolverine #8

First apperance, but unsure how big a deal it will be thus it not landing in the "spec" category and in the mentions instead.

Daredevil #3 - Rivals

Final story in the arc, but also has a Marvel Rivals variant. These have been bumped down to just honrable mention. Seeing some still find love on secondary, but this is more for those of us who think they are cool!

I TYRANT #1 - Read this

I had the pleasure of reading #1 for this, it is a super good read and I am subbing to it. This was on the list of potential exclusives, but again it was up against Ghost Pepper. They are both crazy good, but Ghost Pepper has the makings for the series of the year!
